Disposal Information

The German Battery Ordinance (BattV) regulates the disposal and recycling of batteries and accumulators in Germany. Its purpose is to prevent batteries and accumulators from entering the environment and releasing harmful substances. Therefore, it is important for us as a provider to provide you with relevant information.

Returning Used Batteries

Used batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with normal household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to a designated collection point:

  • At public collection points in your municipality
  • In many stores that sell products with batteries and accumulators
  • Directly to PremiumBags – send your used batteries to:

Battery Labelling

Batteries containing harmful substances are marked with a crossed-out waste bin symbol. The following chemical symbols also indicate this:

  • Cd – contains cadmium
  • Hg – contains mercury
  • Pb – contains lead
